Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Cook Time 10 minutes mins
- 1-2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 2-3 tsp Chia seeds, white ones preferrably
- 1 tbsp Manuka honey, rice syrup or maple syrup (optional)
- 3 cups Filtered or sparkling water
- Lemon slices as garnish (optional)
- Fresh herbs like mint, lemon balm or sweet basil (optional)
- Ice cubes (optional)
In a large jug or pitcher, add in lemon juice, chia seeds and sweetener of choice (if using), then pour in 3 cups of water.
Stir well with a long spoon or metal straw
Add sliced lemon and fresh herbs and stir again
Stir regularly for around 5-10minutes to allow the chia seeds to absorb some water before drinking.
Add ice cubes if desired. Before serving stir really well, pour straight away into 2 large glasses, serve with a metal straw or spoon to enable stirring. The chia seeds tend to settle at the bottom. Enjoy!
Note// make sure to stir well as chia seeds tend to settle at the bottom of the glass.
You could use lime instead of lemon if you prefer.
