Turmeric Latte, anti-inflammatory goodness in a cup.

The days are getting cooler here in the southern hemisphere, and I’m always on the look out for hot drinks that are both delicious and filled with goodness. This turmeric latte, also known traditionally as ‘Golden Milk’ derived from Ayurvedic medicine is both of those things.

Turmeric or Curcuma longa, has been well researched for its anti inflammatory properties. These findings are from the key active compound called curcumin.

Turmeric has been traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years for aiding numerous ailments from digestive issues to supporting the immune system. In more recent years Turmeric and curcumin have been researched extensively and show tremendous benefits from reducing inflammation to aiding depression and balancing blood sugar levels.

Adding this simple spice to our diet even in small ways, is highly beneficial to our health and wellbeing and its so great we can make it into a yummy drink that not only warms us up, but makes us well too.
