This cashew sauce is one of those condiments that is so easy to make and goes well with so many things, it’s great drizzled on tacos, beans and rice, atop nachos, roast veggies, salads, on avocado toast, sandwiches, etc…and if you’re anything like me and my 5 year old daughter, you have to be careful not to eat half of it before it goes on the dish!
It’s naturally sweet from the cashews, tangy and smokey and salty. If it is a little too tangy for you, you can reduce the lemon juice to 1.5 tbsp and add a little more water. You could also add some smoked chipotle sauce to make it a little spicy..

Smokey Cashew sauce
Equipment
- 1 Small blender or food processor
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup Raw cashew nuts, soaked and rinsed
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 2.5 tbsp water
- 1/3 clove Garlic, crushed or chopped
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Smoked paprika
- 1-2 tsp Smoked chipotle sauce Optional
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a small blender, including the water. Blend on high until a smooth consistency has formed. Remove from the blender and serve on the side of your favourite dish.
